Design shows off pictures well:

  • alternative stylesheets use clear neutral colour schemes
  • Plenty of blank space is left between pictures
  • Use of CSS borders to create a frame effect to isolate pictures within the page and standardise widths and heights in thumbs page
  • Large picture is large enough to see clearly whilst also read the data alongside
  • Indications of sold status throughout the site

Good user interface and user experience and interaction

A lot of metadata added into the semantic HTML e.g. h1 and descriptive lists for the big picture page

Gallery functionality is not reliant like many other system upon javascript, however due to clean html and css code we can easily incorporate extra functionality e.g. lightbox slideshows, change view to list view on thumbs page (data is hidden through CSS currently)
